December 3, 2024 (LOUISVILLE, KY) – The Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center is proud to announce it will host the largest number of championship indoor track events this season. This milestone includes four major collegiate championships—the ACC, ASUN, SIAC, and NAIA Midsouth Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships—along with three prestigious KHSAA Indoor Track State Championships. These events are set to take place in February and March 2025, marking an exciting close to the year’s indoor track and field season.
Indoor track meets will kick off at the venue this Saturday, December 7 and run through March, featuring more than 40 youth, high school, and collegiate track meets. With a 25% increase in events from last season, the venue is on track to host a record number of total meets. University of Kentucky's Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational is returning along with numerous other highly anticipated track meets. This season will culminate with the seven consecutive championship events, offering athletes of all levels the opportunity to compete in one of the nation’s most renowned indoor track facilities. A complete list of confirmed indoor track meets is provided below.
"We are ecstatic to host the 2025 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships here in Louisville,” said Joe Franklin, University of Louisville Director of Track and Cross Country. “The Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center is one of the best indoor facilities in the world and our university is thrilled to host such a prestigious event in our city that has been renowned for its ability to host championship-level events."
Since opening its doors just under four years ago, the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center has quickly become one of the premier indoor track and field venues in the United States, attracting thousands of athletes from across the country and around the world annually. From aspiring youth athletes to seasoned Olympians, the venue has earned a reputation as one of the fastest and most prestigious indoor tracks nationwide.
“We’re excited to continue growing the impact of this incredible facility,” said Sadiqa Reynolds, Founder and President of the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center. “Hosting these championship events shows the level of quality and commitment that has gone into this space. It’s about more than just the competition—this is a place where athletes of all ages can come together, challenge themselves, and thrive.”
In addition to the high level of competition, the events will also provide a significant economic boost to the local community. Visitors from across the country will travel to Louisville for the championships, generating revenue for local businesses, hotels, restaurants, and more. These events also create job opportunities for residents, including those from the historically underrepresented Russell Neighborhood where the venue is located.
“The economic impact of these events goes beyond just the immediate revenue they bring in,” said Reynolds. “These championships help grow our city and create lasting opportunities. They support local businesses, create jobs, and invest in the community, which has long been our mission.”
The track meets will also have a profound cultural and social impact, especially for local youth athletes. For many young people in Louisville, watching elite athletes compete on the national stage is both inspiring and motivating. It helps them envision their own potential and fuels their drive to reach their goals—whether in sports or in other areas of life.
Sarah Bridenbaugh, Assistant Commissioner of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA), echoed this sentiment, highlighting the significance of the KHSAA Indoor Track State Championships.
“Hosting the KHSAA Indoor Track State Championships at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center gives our high school student-athletes the rare and invaluable experience of competing on the same stage as some of the nation’s top athletes,” said Bridenbaugh. “For many, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that can inspire them to reach new heights, both
on and off the track. It’s transformational for our student-athletes across Kentucky.”
The Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center remains committed to supporting athletes and inspiring the next generation. As the 2025 indoor track season gets underway, the facility’s growing role in the world of competitive track and field is a testament to its exceptional design, community impact, and forward-thinking leadership.
