Louisville, Ky. (February 11, 2025) – The Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center is set to host its largest indoor track meet of the season as the KTCCCA President's Day Weekend Invitereturns this Saturday and Sunday. With approximately 3,000 athletes representing 200 teams from eight states, the 2-day event is expected to bring a significant economic and athletic boost to Louisville. This major meet highlights the region's growing prominence in indoor track and field, with athletes from all levels competing in various divisions, from youth to masters.

The growth of indoor track in Kentucky and surrounding states has been exponential in recent years, making this year’s President’s Day Weekend Invite the most in-demand event yet. In fact, the high school meet on Saturday reached its maximum capacity weeks in advance. The Sunday schedule will include an overflow of high school athletes, as well as participants from other age divisions, ensuring the event remains accessible to a wide range of competitors.

“We are thrilled to see the incredible growth of our President’s Day indoor track meet and the excitement it brings to the indoor season,” said Tim King, President of the Kentucky Track & Cross Country Coaches Association (KTCCCA). “The fact that this meet filled to capacity by early February speaks to the increased interest and demand in our region. It’s clear that indoor track in Kentucky and the surrounding states is growing, and we are excited to be a part of that growth.”

In addition to the President’s Day meet, the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center will also host several exciting events in the coming week. On Thursday, February 13, the venue will be home to the NAIA Mid-South Conference Indoor Championship, featuring some of the region’s top collegiate athletes. The 2024 indoor and outdoor NAIA National Champion University of the Cumberlands, currently ranked as the top men’s team in the NAIA, will lead a competitive field of athletes looking to earn conference titles and All-American honors. The next week also features the JCPS High School Wednesday Meet on Wednesday, February 12 and JCPS Middle School Monday's on Monday, February 17.
