The Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center is set to host one of the most anticipated NCAA meets of 2024 this weekend as the University of Kentucky brings the 29th annual Rod McCravy Memorial Invitational to Louisville this weekend.

The event is named in honor of Kentucky track athlete Rod McCravy, who was a very influential and caring University of Kentucky track athlete who suffered an untimely death in 1987 at the age of 19. McCravy grew up in Louisville near the site of Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center and graduated from Trinity High School. University of Kentucky Meet Manager and McCravy's college coach, Don Weber, said his former athlete continues to touch lives as the memorial meet is used to impact the next generation of athletes through McCravy's outstanding accomplishments and incredible influence both on and off the track. 

"We are thrilled to bring the Rod McCravy Invitational to Louisville, Rod’s hometown." University of Kentucky Meet Manager Don Weber said. "The McCravy Meet has been one of the top collegiate competitions in the nation during its twenty-nine-year span, and this year will be no different. Rod grew up only minutes from the Norton Healthcare Sports & Leaning Center and we hope hosting his meet in Louisville will give his hometown family and friends an opportunity to remember and reflect on his very influential life."

In addition to Kentucky, the list of teams slated to participate includes: the University of Texas, the University of Louisville, the University of Miami (Florida), The Ohio State University, Butler University, the University of Cincinnati, Miami University (Ohio), Howard University, Alabama State University, Tulane University, University of Central Florida.

Admission to the meet is free, and parking is just $5 per car. A full schedule of upcoming indoor track meets at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center is listed below.
