Louisville, Ky. (March 8, 2023) - The Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center has developed a reputation as one of the fastest indoor track facilities in the Nation and the venue continues to attract high-profile events to Louisville. Over the next two weekends, USA Track & Field will take over the facility for back-to-back national championship events.

The USATF Masters Indoor Championships will be hosted March 10-12, 2023 and the USATF National Youth Indoor Championships will be hosted March 17-19, 2023 for the first time ever in Louisville. These events will close out the indoor season at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center with some of the Nation's top talent.

More than 2,500 athletes are expected to compete in USATF National Youth Indoor Championships,  and 1,000 athletes are anticipated at the Master's event. The Youth championship is expected to generate a $2.6 million economic impact and the Master's event is expected to generate a $1.4 million economic impact, a total of $4 million for the Louisville region. The USATF National Youth Indoor Championships are already slated to return in March 2024.

“We’re thrilled to be headed just down the road from our national headquarters in Indianapolis to the state-of-the-art facility at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center,” said USATF CEO Max Siegel. “Seeing this complex go from conceptual drawings to a finished structure and active facility – and now to host two championships there in the coming weeks is truly special. We look forward to these events and many more to come in Louisville.”

The facility’s ownership group, the Louisville Urban League, built the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in the west end of Louisville with the desire to fill the space with high profile events that would attract fans from across the globe. Hosting events like the USATF Masters Indoor Championships and USATF National Youth Indoor Championships brings this vision to life and helps pave the path for future growth and success.

“This facility is built on the hopes and dreams of an entire community. Our desire from the very beginning was to bring a truly world-class venue to the west end of Louisville," said the facility Founder and President, Sadiqa Reynolds. "We achieved that in the development of this complex, and since our opening 2 years ago, our focus has been to fill this space with world-class events and world-class experiences - for athletes and fans from around the world and right here in the west end. Securing these championship events prove how far we've come in such a short time and we look forward to watching more athletes soar in the coming years. Future plans for the facility include attracting more championship track & field events in addition to serving the community with regular programming throughout the year."
